[1] 1955-1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing
Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing the two door coupe, sports car, this car was a rocket. The iconic gullwing doors. 300SL was introduced in the New York Auto Show, 1954. This car carries the incrediable power of 212 hp and this power was genrated by 2996cc engine.
Warner Engel won the European Rally Championship in 1955 by this car. This car also defeated its enemies and raised the flag of victory in Rali Vinho da Maderia in 1960.
The 300SL was recreated by Anton Tony Osternerier after the decision of Max Haffman the U.S. distributor of Mercedes-Benz and the decision was, to make a market in America for fast, sensual Mercede-Benz coupe.
The car was assembled in Stuttart-Unterturkheim, Germany. Gullwing had a 4 speed mannual transmission with top speed of 240km/h 3.0L 2996cc engine gave a power of 215ps (158kw) and the torque of 274 N.m and breaking horse power was 215 at 5,800rpm.

The second genration of Chevolet Bel Air, was a popular car at that time. Uder the bonnet it contains V8 engine option and the option of 2-speed powerglide automatic, or a standard three speed synchro-mesh mannual transmission.
Top marks obtained by Bel Air which was gaved by Motor Trend Magazine for handling.
It attains 60mph from 0 in 12.9seconds. A new option for V8-equppied 1955 models was air conditioning with outlets on each side. This 4-door hardtop car was made in a platform of GM A Body. The new 265cu in (4,430cc) V8 featured a mordern, overhead valve high compression, short stroke design that was so good that it remained in production in various displacement for many decades. The V8 engine had a two barrel carburetor which generated the power of 162 hp (121kw), there was also an option of four barrel carburetor which produced the power of 180hp (130kw).
1956 Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full width grille.
1957 engine displacement grew to 283cu in (4,640cc) with the super "Turbo Fire V8" option producing 283hp (211kw) with the help of continuous (closed loop) mechanical fuel injection.
"Old is gold" is the correct phrase, cars get updated but the magic in classic cars is something else.

Citroën DS 19 was first launched on 5 oct 1955 at Paris Motor Show, only for the first 15 min of the show. The notable things in the car were hydropneumatic suspension including an automatic levelling system and variable ground clearence.
The Monte Carlo Rally in 1959 was won by DS. 1000 Lakes Rally , Pauli Torivonen drove a DS19 and won that event in 1962. In 1966, the DS won the Monte Carlo Rally again, and many more sport events.
There was a large impact of Citroën development, 1955, DS cemented the brand name as an automotive innovator, building on the success of the Traction Avant.
